EVENT SERIES INFORMATION:
What defines a “smart” region? TWI Global defines it as a region that “uses information and communication technology to improve operational efficiency, share information with the public and provide a better quality of government service and citizen welfare” with the goal of optimizing regional functions and promote economic growth while also improving the quality of life for citizens by using smart technologies and data analysis.
With a long history of leading smart city and smart region initiatives, TAO is formalizing a quarterly online conversation series that is focused on thought leadership in this area. These 90-minute virtual sessions bring together public, private, academic and non-profit partners from Oregon and beyond to foster collaboration and share best practices and identify potential projects and policies that would help address civic challenges and advance Oregon and SW Washington as an inclusive, innovation based ecosystem.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Representatives from state and local government, economic development, regional workforce programs, companies and entrepreneurs focused on tech, mobility, food, agriculture, climate-tech and clean-tech markets, nonprofits focused on traded-sector industries and/or civic innovation, higher ed institutions.
