With the release of new generative AI like ChatGPT, national pundits declared that these tools would commence “the end of the English major.” Do ye jest? While certainly ChatGPT and Google Bard have given educators pause, is it really the end of all classes on The Canterbury Tales? Or while these new tools may alter how we look at the education process, are there opportunities to make better learning experiences that build on the best parts of our system?
Faculty from George Fox University will join with industry leaders in a panel discussion moderated by Emerge, Inc. CEO Mohan Nair to discuss the impact of broader artificial intelligence developments on learning. They will discuss the potential economic opportunity of AI-enhanced learning, how the entire community should contemplate integrating these tools in classrooms, tutors, or apps, and just how reliable ChatGPT might be for that upcoming term paper.
This panel discussion is sponsored by George Fox Digital, the transformation arm of George Fox University, the state’s largest comprehensive private institution, with twelve colleges providing graduate and undergraduate programming to over 4200 students.
