Please join the Portland State Business Accelerator and Sarah Joannides, Managing Director, of Alternative Ownership Advisors. Sarah is a champion for change and using business as a force for good. Prior to joining AOA, Sarah spent 12 years at New Seasons Market, most recently as VP of Social Responsibility. She was their steward of social cause and mission-related practices, including community engagement, operational sustainability, B Corp certification and public policy advocacy.

Sarah Joannides and the team at Alternative Ownership Advisors are working at the forefront of a nascent movement known as Steward Ownership, which works to embed purpose into structure and to realign incentives so leaders can focus on building value for all stakeholders, not just shareholders. In this session, she’ll share the key tenets of Steward Ownership, and explore how these principles have the capacity to shift the dominant paradigm of how businesses are owned, governed and financed.
