Internal Controls and Fraud Prevention. No matter how small or large your company is, internal financial controls are key to avoiding fraud.
About this Event
Come hear from NOW CFO about how to set up internal controls for your business. They will layout the differences in how to do this for a small startup just starting out and startups that have been in operation for a handful of years. NOW CFO will talk about segregation of duties and the potential impacts of doing this. The presentation will conclude with how fraud comes about as well as some real life examples of fraud.
About the Speakers:
Jessica Crannell-Menard has been working with Now CFO for over 6 years. She was the second employee in the Portland office and helped it grow from 2 to 30 employees within those six years, and served over 650 clients. In 2017, she opened the Central Oregon office, staffed it with two employees, and serves about 20 clients. Jessica oversees all Business Development functions for the Now CFO Portland and Bend offices, and covers the entire state of Oregon. A power networker, she helps connect professional leaders, community members, clients, and service providers together.
Kassandra Humbard has been in the accounting industry for 17 years. She started working as a bookkeeper for her family construction company at 15 years old. Besides construction, she has worked in almost every industry including manufacturing, retail, and nonprofits. Kassandra has her Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Eastern Oregon University, her Master’s Degree in Economic Crime and Fraud Management from Utica College. She has her Certified Fraud Examiner certificate and has volunteered for her local Sheriff’s department investigating financial crime.
