OBI Client Company Recent Wins

Caravel

• With the announcement of our SBIR Phase I Funding in June, Caravel has added an additional $800,000 in venture funding to our pre-seed round. This will enable us to grow our team and increase throughput via automation.
• Caravel is hiring for two PhD-level positions, one Scientist I and another Scientist II – Senior, in organism and enzyme engineering. Individuals with expertise in high-throughput directed evolution, genetic code expansion, microfluidics, or cell-free enzyme cascades are especially encouraged to apply. HTI

• Team heads down to release CryoFAST™ 1.0 at M&M’24, July 29-Aug1, in Cleveland, OH. M&M is the premier Microscopy international conference. CryoFAST is an autonomous platform using AI/ML model to automate the Cryo-EM workflow that provides 2X throughput at 50% cost saving.
• Issued two press releases with full support from key partners who provided venue for joint product presentations and demonstrations.
• HTI wouldn’t be able to launch CryoFAST 1.0 without the amazing support from National Science Foundation (NSF), OHSU & Business Oregon.
• Signed MSA with a major pharma for a 2nd Cryo-EM project.

Gamma Diagnostics

• Gamma Diagnostics was approved to receive a TABA Needs Assessment Report from the NIH to assist with further business development for our funded NIH STTR grant, “Development of Antisense Oligonucleotides to Regulate Gamma’ Fibrinogen Levels.”

Angel Oregon Life & Bioscience (AOBIO) is designed to support early-stage life and bioscience startups based in Oregon and Southwest Washington by offering investment-readiness education, connectivity within the local bioscience community, and the opportunity to receive an equity investment from local angel investors.

The program is one in a series of Angel Oregon events facilitated by Oregon Entrepreneurs Network in collaboration with Oregon Bioscience Association, Oregon Bioscience Incubator/OTRADI, OHSU and Oregon Nanoscience and Microtechnologies Institute.

2024 will feature a three-week investment-readiness education series for life and bioscience startups at any stage of development. Cohort 2 launches Thursdays, August 22nd – September 19th.
